We are looking for an enthusiastic and switched on person to help run the tool library and coordinate our amazing team of volunteers. If you love helping people, are detail oriented, and have an interest in tools (in the broadest sense of the word), then this could be the perfect role for you!
About Us:
The Auckland Library of Tools is a non-profit sharing project. We stock tools for everything from construction and home DIY to gardening, textiles and food prep. Our mission is to reduce the environmental impact of rampant consumerism, and to make tools and other consumer items more accessible. If you love the planet, connecting people, and believe in the radical potential of a sharing economy, you’ll probably enjoy working with us!
Responsibilities:
Assist members with loans, tool enquiries and DIY advice.
Ensure tools are fit for purpose, and that our members follow best practice in regards to health and safety
Manage and maintain our tool inventory, ensuring everything is organized, clean, and in working order.
Help coordinate our talented team of volunteers who do everything from customer engagement to tool maintenance and repair.
Support our mission by promoting sustainability and resource-sharing within the community.
What We’re Looking For:
A warm, community-oriented mindset and excellent communication skills.
A love for organisation and a knack for problem-solving.
Basic knowledge of tools and a willingness to learn more.
A belief in the power of shared resources to bring people together and reduce waste.
Is available library hours, including 10am-2pm Saturdays.

This role will be on a contractor basis, we anticipate 8 - 14 hours of work per week depending on the successful applicant’s skill, experience and availability. This vacancy will remain open until we find the right fit for the role.
