🌿 Exciting News from the Auckland Library of Tools: We're Hiring! 🌿

For the first time ever, our volunteer-run organization is seeking to hire someone for a paid ongoing, part-time Tool Librarian & Coordinator position to help us build on the amazing mahi our team has been doing!

We’ve been entirely volunteer-run since day one (6 years!), and we’ve been able to do incredible things with just the dedication and passion of our community and dedicated volunteers. The next steps for us in 2025 are big, and because of that, we need ongoing dedicated resource; we need a paid team member to help us move forward, and that’s where you come in!

We’re looking for someone who loves tools (and we mean everything from construction and home DIY to gardening and textiles), who is organized, and who’s passionate about sustainability and community. If you’re the type of person who’s ready to step into a role that has real impact, this could be the perfect opportunity.

🚧 What will you be doing?
As our Tool Librarian & Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of the action, coordinating a team of volunteers and helping members with tool loans and any curly questions. You’ll ensure our inventory is organized and in great condition, and help spread our mission of sustainability and resource-sharing.

🔧 What are we looking for?

  • Someone who loves working with people, especially in a community-focused setting.

  • Someone who’s organized and loves problem-solving.

  • A belief in the power of shared resources and sustainable practices.

  • A passion for learning (if you're not a tool expert yet, we’ll help you get there!).

  • Availability to work Saturdays (10am-2pm).

📍 About Us
The Auckland Library of Tools is a nonprofit that provides access to over 1,500 tools for everything from construction to food prep. We’re creating an alternative to consumerism, empowering individuals and fostering a sharing economy in our community. Our mission is simple: make tools and resources more accessible while reducing the environmental impact of overconsumption.

If you’re passionate about sustainability, resource-sharing, or simply want to see community driven projects thrive, but are not able to commit to the above role, you should join our volunteer pool!
